Cuddle Quilts
Since the Guild's inception, members have made quilts to donate to children in need or with long-term disabilities in local hospitals and rehabilitation centers. In the last year, more than 120 quilts and small pillows were distributed to the Leake and Watts Center, Yonkers; the Port Chester Children's Place; St Mary's Rehabilitation Center, Ossining; and the Ronald McDonald House at Westchester Medical Center.
Our members make small quilts to donate to children with long-term disabilities in local hospitals and rehabilitation centers such as Westchester Medical Center and Blythedale Children’s Hospital. We recently “adopted” a class at Children’s Rehabilitation Center in White Plains, a Day Center where 130 children receive physical treatment and special education. Our quilts will be used at naptime.
Here are VSQ quilts being used in the White Plains Hospital Neonatal Unit.
Here is Viola Lull, our most prolific Cuddle Quilt maker with some of the quilts she has hand made for the children.
